An Olympic open house
Open House London, the weekend in which the capital throws open the doors of its buildings, has a predictably Olympic flavour this year.
This year’s is the 20th edition of Open House, and the theme is ‘The Changing Face of London’.
And nowhere has London changed more than around the Olympic Park, where Open House will be offering guided tours showcasing regeneration efforts.
Also new this year will be rides on the Emirates Airline cable car, which opened last month, while old favourite such as the Gherkin and Tower 42 will also be open to visit.
Open House says that this year it is aiming to demonstrate the way the built environment is evolving and ‘how design can make London a more liveable, vibrant and enjoyable city’.
Open House London takes place from 22-23 September. For more information visit www.openhouselondon.org.uk
