Anorak magazine’s Sports edition

Just in time for Euro 2012 and the London Olympics, Anorak, ‘the happy mag for kids’ is publishing its sports issue.

We’ve long been fans of Anorak, which was founded in 2007 by Cathy Olmedillas, formerly of style magazines The Face and Sleazenation.

Dedicated to new stories and illustrations, previous Anorak issues have featured the work of (among others) Rob Ryan, Jon Burgerman, Andy Rementer and Gemma Correll.

The Sports issue, which has been designed by Matthew Bromley, contains delights such as the Sport is Spiffing feature about unusual games, illustrated by Rob Flowers, and story The Island of Li, peppered with palindromes and illustrated by Lesley Barnes.

Other treats include Munkie and Horrace, a photo-story featuring a stuffed monkey and a bear, slightly reminiscent of Deirdre’s Photo-Casebook, and ‘Greedy Gulliver Woodpigeon – A Cautionary tale’.
