Apple unveils iPad Mini

Apple’s iPad Mini has been unveiled, a new design which the company says is 23 per cent thinner and 53 per cent lighter than the third generation iPad.

Features include a 20.06cm Multi-Touch display, FaceTime HD and iSight Cameras, and the manufacturer claims the product offers ultrafast broadband performance and ten hours of battery life.

The FaceTime HD camera is front-facing and on the back is a five megapixel iSight camera which offers ‘sharp still pictures and recording of full 1080p HD video’, according to Apple.

It comes in an aluminum and glass design which is just 7.2mm thin weighs 308g.

The iPad Mini will be available in black and slate or white and silver from 2 November in the UK priced £269 for the 16GB model, £349 for the 32GB model and £429 for the 64GB model.

Meanwhile Apple took the opportunity to announce the launch of its new 13 inch MacBook Pro, which has been redesigned with a new display, reduced reflection and faster processors.
