British Paralympic Association relaunches website

The British Paralympic Association, which runs the ParalympicsGB team, has relaunched its website ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The BPA says it wants the site – at www.paralympics.org.uk – to be ‘the go-to site for news on the British team’ when the Games start on 29 August.

The site launched with new features this week, following an earlier relaunch in April, for which the BPA worked with consultancies Skylab and Nemisys on design and build respectively.

The BPA worked with Nemysis again on this latest refresh, which is to prepare the site for Games-time.

The BPA says new features include a medal table and other news features relating to the Games.

It says the site had to feature a strong representation of the BPA’s brand essence – relentless transformation through sport – as well as a strong British feel and a differentiation between ParalympicsGB (the team) and the BPA (the organisation behind the team).

The BPA adds, ‘Being a disability organisation we definitely had to take accessibility into account… We are always looking for ways to improve the site in terms of accessibility so this is something that is continually monitored and improved on as technology improves.’
