Build’s birthday bash
Build, the consultancy founded by Michael C Place, is marking its 11th birthday this year with an exhibition – Blood, Sweat and 11 Years.
Place, formerly at The Designers Republic, set up Build in 2001, and the consultancy has worked on projects such as D&AD’s Awards icons, the previous identity for the Design Museum Shop and materials for Gary Hustwit’s films Objectified and Urbanized.
To mark its decade-plus-one, Build is holding an exhibition of work, prints and posters from over the years.
Going on show will be a number of pieces from the Build archive, including several reprints of previous editions, for sale.
The previously unavailable Not for Commercial Use poster series will be auctioned on 16 September, with the proceeds going to Impact India, Sightsavers and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The exhibition will also feature a piece of furniture designed by Build in collaboration with architect Studio Octopi and carpenter Aldworth James & Bond.
Build: Blood, Sweat and 11 Years, is at Dray Walk Gallery, 91 Brick Lane, London E1, from 11-16 September.
