Having conquered a solo show, for the launch of her book Creature Couture The Felt Mistress is running a series of workshops.

Christmas Creature Couture will give you the chance to ‘design and make your own bespoke felt monster under the guidance of the Felt Mistress,’ which you can of course take away, or give to someone if it’s any good.

The Felt Mistress used to be known as one Louise Evans, a couture dress-maker who turned her hand to character design.

At a second event The Art of Felt Mistress: An Event to Celebrate the Launch of Creature Couture, she will be joined by her partner – illustrator and toy designer Jonathan Edwards who will be in conversation with the book’s editor and designer Woodrow Phoenix.

Those who purchase the book will get the opportunity to be celebrated or sportingly humiliated by Edwards, who will be drawing monster inspired portraits of customers.

Christmas Creature Couture is on from 1-5pm on 9 and 16 Decmber, and The Art of Felt Mistress: An Event to Celebrate the Launch of Creature Couture is on at 6.30pm on December 11. Both events are at Foyles, 113-119 Charing Cross Road, WC2
