Fivefootsix works on Children In Need brand

Fivefootsix is working on charity Children In Need’s core brand to distinguish it from the yearly Appeal initiative.

The consultancy has worked with the charity on a number of smaller projects and is now designing a core brand to help it better communicate its other fundraising initiatives throughout the year.

Fivefootsix partner Algy Batten says, ‘Fundamentally we are sorting out the core brand as previously there has been some confusion with how it is portrayed in conjunction with the yearly Appeal initiative, which has its own look and feel, developed each year to keep it fresh.’

‘The core brand, as it is a constant and ever-present body, needs something that stands apart, and has a stronger more authoritative look for longevity,’ says Batten, who expects the core brand work to be delivered next month.

Recent campaign and event work by Fivefootsix has involved identities being cast in the form of Pudsey Bear and reappropriated in different ways, although Batten gives no indication that this form will be used as the basis for the core brand.

This year’s fundraising packs have been designed by Fivefootsix and printed, and will be sent out to schools, families and businesses at the end of the summer ahead of the main fundraising Appeal in November.

In addition the consultancy has designed the look and feel for the whole Appeal in the hope that it becomes more cohesive than in previous years.
