Football prints you can dare to hang in your home
Faced with the realisation that it becomes increasingly less acceptable to hang football posters on your wall as you get older, two designers have created a series of posters which hint at premiership teams.
The Art of Sport series has been created by co-founder of SOLV John Paul Stallard and creative director of Dowling Duncan San Francisco and New York, Rob Duncan.
The pair, both English, met in an Irish bar in San Francisco watching the 2005 Champions League final between Liverpool and AC Milan.
Stallard, an Arsenal fan, and Duncan, a Liverpool fan, have created a series of ‘living-room worthy prints that bring a modern design aesthetic to your favourite team, while subtly incorporating team history, colours, names and mythology.’
Duncan, says ‘When we were kids, it was okay to hang posters of our favourite team all over our walls. When we grew up, as much as we loved our team, our girlfriends – and later our wives – wouldn’t have a giant Man United poster hanging above the mantel, even if they were big fans.’
