Government unveils tax calculation app
The Treasury has released a free app that allows people to calculate how much tax they pay and how the Government spends it.
The app, which has been designed in-house at the Treasury, is ‘an important step towards achieving the Government’s vision of making the system more transparent, open, and easier to understand’, according to the Treasury.
The Treasury says new research shows that more than half of taxpayers do not know how much tax and National Insurance they pay in a year.
The app allows taxpayers to calculate how much they can expect to pay.
The new app is available for free from the Apple Store and Google Play.
