LDY EcoGraphics brands luxury patient hotel for UCLH
LDY EcoGraphics has branded Cotton Rooms, the first luxury patient hotel accommodation to be developed by charity UCLH.
The UCLH charity supports patients, staff and medical research at University College London Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust.
Cotton Rooms will provide 35 bedrooms for patients who have travelled long distances and are awaiting treatment at UCLH hospitals.
LDY EcoGraphics was brought in by architect practice and parent company LDY, which has worked on interior architecture at the hotel and maintains a longstanding relationship with UCL hospitals.
The identity is a graphic expression of a cotton plant and forms a marque for other applications including artwork, wayfinding, website, staff uniforms, and printed materials.
LDY EcoGraphics’ Associate head of graphics Ting Tang says that the look ‘represents the clinical, soft, approachable, friendly and calming sense of UCL hospitals.
‘The colours and materials chosen for the welcome directory, umbrella and other items were specified to coordinate with the mood of the overall interior architecture.’
Tang says an official launch of the Tottenham Court Road based hotel, takes place next week, and the consultancy is still tweaking the website and finalising the designs of some printed materials.
