Let There Be Light
United Visual Artists (UVA) is among a host of designers and artists exhibiting in illuminating new show Let There Be Light, which opens in Mayfair’s Gazelli Art House gallery next week.
All the works on show celebrate – you guessed it – light, using it as a medium to create installations, sculptures and other artworks.
UVA will be showing a new work Always/Never, which according to the gallery, will be ‘an exploration of time and our experience of it passing.’ A sundial-like effect will be created using geometric patterns of light and shade, showing the artificial and relative nature of time.
Designer, art director, filmmaker and visual artist Sergio Calderon, meanwhile, is presenting digital exploration of light The Story of You and Me, a video and sound projects that draws on his previous cinematic installations.
Artist Henry Krokatsis’ piece Leaded Light uses pieces of found glass collected over the past two years to create a pattern that filters out natural light to different degrees depending on the opacity of the fragments.
Let There Be Light runs from 13 September – 28 October at Gazelli Art House, 39 Dover Street, Mayfair, London W1
