Who doesn’t love popping bubble wrap? Surely only the hardest hearted of curmudgeons. Smart Brooklyn-based designer Stephen Turbek has come up with a brilliant way of playing on this simple, yet potent pleasure, in conceiving the Bubble Calendar. Simply ‘pop’ each day as it goes by. As the UK distributor, Fototo puts it, ‘Bursting bubbles no longer has to be an idle pursuit confined to a quick dash to the stationery cupboard, or a quick go on a recently received parcel.’ Bliss.

Giant Year Planner
Purlfrost has created the huge, self-adhesive vinyl Giant Year Planner. It comes with a sheet of 150 stickers to highlight important events, and the company assures us that once the year is over it can be peeled from the wall without even a smidgeon of ‘sticky residue or damage to walls.’
Consultancy Accept & Proceed has created a series of gorgeous Light Calendar prints, which depict the hours of light and dark for each month of the year.
Each artwork is individually screen-printed by hand at Bob Eight Pop in a limited edition of 100 of each.
The posters can be seen at Nelly Duff at 156 Columbia Road, London E2
Moving The World
Papierfabrik Scheufelen’s calendar behemoth, entitled Moving the World, is not for the faint-hearted day-crosser, spanning approximately 457m2. While that might be something of an exaggeration, it’s certainly a biggie – fitting, perhaps for the famous people that adorn it. Designed by consultancy Strichpunkt, there’s some lovely illustration, with each month showing the sketched head of a figure that the company deems to have shown ‘courage and innovative strength.’ The heads are interwoven with symbols of the achievements that have earnt them a place in the calendar.
