Robot Food creates brand for online retailer Sous Chef
Robot Food has branded new online retail business Sous Chef, which sells specialist ingredients to the home chef.
The consultancy was approached directly by Sous Chef which required a corporate identity, labels, packaging and a look for its website.
Sous Chef specialises in ingredients which are usually supplied to professional kitchens in bulk. It also sells cook books, equipment and specialist world foods.
‘As a serious independent start up, we required a timeless, iconic identity that would allow the products to speak for themselves,’ says Sous Chef founder Nicola Lando.
A chef’s knife, ‘the top utensil of a professional kitchen’ adds ‘credibility’ to the identity which uses a large amount of white space to show ‘there is no doubt that this is a confident business, targeting the serious amateur cook,’ according to Robot Food creative director Simon Forster.
Branded label templates can be applied to plasticised resealable pouches – one clear and one silver, depending on contents – which Forster says gives a ‘professional, functional and uniform’ look.
