Shelterbox Christmas card competition

With apologies for bringing up the C word just as we start to enjoy our long-delayed summer, writing consultancy Stranger Collective has launched its third annual Christmas Card competition for charity Shelterbox.

The cards will raise funds for the work of disaster relief charity Shelterbox, which is based in Stranger Collective’s home county of Cornwall.

Previous years have seen card designs from the likes of Jon Burgerman, Marcus Oakley and Frootful (images of last year’s cards are shown with this story).

This year’s competition will see designers and illustrators teamed up with writers to create cards based around Shelterbox’s core values of shelter, warmth and dignity.

Either typographical or pictorial designs are welcomed, and the brief also includes creating the message to go inside the card.

Two card designs will be chosen from the submissions, to go alongside four other designs from leading designers and illustrators.

The deadline for submissions is 24 August, for more information and to enter visit stranger-collective.com. Also, designers who want to take part but don’t have a collaborative partner can email hello@stranger-collective to be paired up with one.
