Studio Baum creates World Record Posters
A fortuitous accident has helped Studio Baum create this series of world record posters.
‘I stumbled across this style using the bitmap tool in photoshop to convert a graphic,’ says Sam Baum, one half of the husband and wife duo who set up the studio.
‘It gave me this textile-based pixolated response,’ says Baum who has celebrated sporting world records in a set of 16 posters, which includes David Rudisha’s 800m world record, set at the London 2012 Olympics.
‘I’ve used simple shapes and typography and picked out elements from the flags to create an aesthetic which isn’t too modern,’ says Baum who wanted to pay homage to ‘retro Olympics posters.’
Each A2 sized design is part of a limited edition run of ten prints, which are signed and numbered. They cost £75 each unframed and are available here.
