The Olympics from the air
For the past two years, photographer Giles Price has been documenting the development of the London 2012 Olympic site, through a series of large-format aerial images.
The E20 12 – Under Construction exhibition, which opens this week, brings these huge, minutely-detailed images together, displaying them alongside portraits of the construction workers responsible for building these icons.
Unlike the architects’ CGIs and glossy publicity photos these images provide a new angle on designs such as the media centre and the velodrome, as well as showing all the surrounding construction infrastructure that goes into making them a reality.
The exhibition is part of the King’s Cross Focus Weekend at the London Festival of Architecture.
E20 12 – Under Construction, is at The Crossing, 1 Granary Square, London N1, from 26 June-8 July.
Well worth a visit- great images from a talented photographer
