The new film follows 1982’s The Snowman, which was adapted from Raymond Briggs’s graphic novel of the same name.

The Snowman and The Snowdog will be broadcast on Channel 4 over the Christmas period, and features new character the Snowdog, who has mismatched socks for ears and a satsuma for a nose.

The film has been directed by Hilary Audus and art directed by Joanna Harrison, both of whom worked as animators of the original film, and while Briggs has not been involved in the project, he has given it his blessing.

Together has worked with both Channel 4 and The Snowman publisher Penguin to develop brand guidelines for using the The Snowman and The Snowdog on products.

This work includes a logo, packaging formats and a toolkit of assets from the film, which could be used to create products such as clothing, gifts and homeware.

Together brand planner Emily Penny says, ‘We went through the film with the animators to identify individual icons that could be used, for example the socks used to cover the Snowdog’s ears.’
