Together everyone achieves more
Upcoming show Together Everyone Achieves More (T.E.A.M.) sees designer and illustrator Melvin Galapon working with three different artists to create collaborative works.
Galapon has created individual works with Hellovon, Pomme Chan and James Dawe, in a bid to combine his own fascination with geometric shapes with each illustrator’s particular aesthetic.
‘Each collaboration is a separate project with that artist’, says Galapon, ‘Although, having said that, from what we’ve seen so far there seems to be a visual theme of hard-edged lines mixed with organic flowing forms, which I guess is a reflection of my thinking and each of theirs.’
The T.E.A.M. exhibition, at London’s Kemistry Gallery, will feature screenprints and risoprints of the work, as well as a collection of silk scarves, cushions and handkerchiefs.
Melvin Galapon: T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More, is at Kemistry Gallery, 43 Charlotte Road, London EC2, from 16 August-1 September.
