So many ad agencies. I wonder if this is a reflection that they’re getting better at design, or is it just that Cannes Lions are so expensive to enter that design agencies opt out?
Not much to say about BBH’s work for Asos. A jerky video, long loading times, FLASH!!!!!!, not mobile. No real engagement with Asos, there suggested audience, and the clothing. Simple click and view. Nothing new.
Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder why the Tuborg bottle received an award? It is a solid piece of design, but according to Bruce Duckworth who was the Design Panels Chairman in Cannes this year, they had 3 criteria for giving awards. 1. Does it feel like something new? 2. Does it break category conventions. 3. Do I wish I had done it? Well no, no and no.
Oh, by the way it was designed by Turner Duckworth….just sayin!.

I think the Guinness work by AMV/BBDO stands out miles above the rest. Also is it just me or is this a very small list of UK winners?
