UKIP set for rebrand

The UK Independence Party is set to rebrand itself, in a move which could see it dropping its pound sign logo and adopting the name ‘UKIP’.

According to reports, UKIP leader Nigel Farage MEP says the party could drop the pound sign as its battle against the euro had been won.

It could also use the UKIP abbreviation to appeal more to domestic voters. He says the party’s purple brand colour is likely to stay.

In a message to UKIP party members, chairman Steve Crowther says, ‘Yes, we are reviewing the brand. No, we haven’t decided how it will develop.

‘What we are doing, before anything else, is asking the voting public what their impression of our brand is; what it says to them, how they perceive us as a result, whether it lacks anything, whether they see it as attractive, up-to-date, representing their own political aspirations.

‘Some of you will now be saying, “This is all marketing claptrap,” no it isn’t. Much of your pension depends on major corporations doing exactly this kind of thing, very carefully, and getting it right.’

The current logo looks like it was knocked up by the party secretary using Paint on her PC.

I agree the current logo does need updating. The background could be red white & blue maybe!

Only if they want to be confused as a re-branding of the BNP Ann!
