‘What next?’ asks Fivefootsix in the third issue of its self-published 56+1 series, which has been produced as an accompaniment to a project with gallery Beach London.

The question was aimed at graduate illustrators who responded as only they should, pictorially, showing how they plan on getting on in the industry.

In fact the question ‘What next?’ is the sentiment of the book. Specific questions have been posed by each illustrator who in turn asks the next a question.

Questions include, ‘If you could build anything what would you build?’, ’ What have you read that has influenced your work?’, ‘How do you know when you’ve come up with the right solution?’ Some are more abstract than others, and so are the answers.

This is the third issue of 56+1, a collaborative series, through which, ‘we choose a theme or concept that allows us to showcase the creative talent of an artist, writer or photographer that inspires us,’ says Fivefootsix.
