An umbrella company, The Magic Button Creative group, has been set up to accommodate both consultancies but Social will keep its name and work autonomously.
Zone operates from Berkshire and has worked for Kraft, PepsiCo and Carlsberg across branding, packaging, print, online and television.
Social, which was founded by Steve Lucker and Paul Driver, operates from Clerkenwell, London, and has worked on rebrands of Hilton Hotels and Resorts, and radio station Capital FM.
Both consultancies work with a core staff of around 12 and share ‘common ground’ in moving image, film and TV work, according to Zone.
Zone Design founding director Robin Horrex says, ‘With both companies having specialised areas of interest, our skill sets naturally complement each other, allowing us to plug gaps in our respective armouries.’
Horrex becomes group creative director and managing director of Social. Lucker and Driver remain creative directors for Social.
