Fashion wins Glasgow medals

Fashion swept the board at Friday night’s Glasgow 1999 Design Medal.

Model turned fashion designer Dieny Itoe scooped the top award, while Camille Lorigo was named Creative Entrepreneur of the Year.

Edinburgh College of Art student Itoe won the award for her collection inspired by Arthur Rackham’s illustrations.

Lorigo was honoured for her retail concept Che Camille, a shop in Glasgow’s Saltmarket that showcases the work of emerging fashion, as well as jewellery and interior designers.

‘With design talent such as Dieny’s and entrepreneurial flair like Camille’s, things are looking good for Scotland’s creative future,’ says Nick Barley, director of The Lighthouse, which presents the two awards annually.
