Steelcase opens UK flagship

Global US office workspace group Steelcase today launches its UK flagship and headquarters in Farringdon, London EC1.

Pearson Lloyd has designed the space in conjunction with architect Buckley Gray Yeoman, while Graphic Thought Facility has created signage and graphics.

The concept behind the space – called WorkLife London – is to showcase a holistic approach to the architectural, design, technology and furniture aspects of the working environment.

Spread over three floors, it includes a showroom, retail area, workspace, venue conference area, café space, gallery wall and library aimed at both a consumer and business-facing retail audience.

‘The primary design concept behind this project was to use white cylindrical forms in various heights and diameters to deliver different needs. These forms created a common design language throughout the space and a dynamic environment in which Steelcase products can be showcased,’ says Tom Lloyd, co-founder of Pearson Lloyd.
