Rose brands Old Vic’s celebrity gala

Rose has created the identity for this year’s 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala at the Old Vic theatre in London.

The event, which takes place on 30 November, will see a host of theatrical stars join forces to write, rehearse and perform six short plays which didn’t exist 24 hours earlier.

Proceeds from the event go to support the Old Vic New Voices programme, which supports young theatre practitioners.

Rose was appointed to the project having previously worked with the Old Vic, initially on helping it reflect the individual productions in its programmes, and then reviewing all its marketing and communications materials to help strengthen the brand, according to Rose partner Simon Elliott.

The consultancy is also acting as a design sponsor for the event, which sees it donating its services to the event in return for advertising in the programme and on the Old Vic’s website, and VIP tickets to the gala and other events.

Rose says the identity for the event has been brought into the Old Vic brand, and uses its corporate typeface, adding, ‘The hourglass marque inserts an appropriate idea into the concept, creating a little identity for the Gala.’

Previous stars who have participated in the event include Brooke Shields, Kevin Spacey, Catherine Tate and Vince Vaughn.
