Interiors Birmingham to showcase new design

Next year’s Interiors event at Birmingham will feature Designersblock for the second year running, and the New Design Britain competition, which showcases the work of young designers.

The New Design Britain competition will be staged in Hall 2 of Interiors’ NEC home. The competition is split into two strands – Made in Britain and Designed in Britain. Within each are four subsections – furniture, fabrics, accessories and surface coverings.

Judges for the competition will include Barbara Chandler, Michael Sodeau and representatives from Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser.

Andrew Vaughan, event manager of Interiors organiser United Business Media, says, ‘New Design Britain will be there, alongside Designersblock, the seminar theatre, and a collaboration between Birmingham City University and Global Colour Research, among other brand new must-see initiatives.’

Interiors 2010 will run from 24-27 January.
