Get your digits out

Okay, so we know the future’s digital. We’ve been told it often enough. We also know technology changes faster than the blink of an eye.

Is this, we wonder, why so many of you digital stars out there are being so slow – old-style snail pace even – to share their great work with us? Is it fear of the work seeming to harness older digital whiz bangs that is delaying your entry to the 2011 Design Week Awards.

We’ve added new categories this year to reflect the shifting interests of digital design. Games design, apps and installations have joined established categories covering film,TV and video and digital design providing information and commercial data.

This shift is reflected in a specialist judging panel chaired by the redoubtable Malcolm Garrett of  Applied Information Group. Your work will also be seen by Ross Phillips, formerly of Nick Knight’s Showstudio, Daljit Sing, one significantly important half of  Conran Singh, the seminal Mr Ross Sleight (aka Gandalf) and interaction artist Andrew Shoben.

So come on guys and gals, get your touchpads out and log into www.designweek.co.uk/awards for details. Remember how brassed off you’ll be when a rival takes a prize for work you know to be inferior to your own just because you didn’t enter.
