If, like us, you are intrigued to know what the next generation of creative minds will come up with, you might like to check out the latest instalment in the Sony Open Planet Ideas saga – a venture that seeks to generate thoughts on how Sony technology can be used to support a more sustainable future.

Though we can’t yet reveal exact details of the projects in development – some 30 in all – Scott Billings has identified six recurring themes in the entries submitted and quizzed creative luminaries about the scenario. To check out his findings, visit here

And for those of you who haven’t come across the crowdsourcing concept before it’s based on the broad question, ‘How can today’s technology help us make the most of our planet’s resources?’.

With WWF and visionary design consultancy Ideo partnering Sony on the project, the outcome promises to be interesting. But you’ll have to wait until next year for the final outcomes. Watch this space.
