Best kept secret
This year’s RCA Secret anonymous postcard sale is back, with contributions from Grayson Perry, Sir James Dyson and Nick Park.
The annual Royal College of Art exhibition – now in its 18th year – invites artists, designers and film makers to produce a postcard size artwork, which is then sold for £45.
Signed on the reverse before hanging, the postcards are anonymous until they’ve been bought.
Other contributors include: artists Anish Kapoor and John Baldessari; designer Kenneth Grange; fashion designer Paul Smith; and film maker Mike Leigh. Could they have created some of the works pictured? We don’t know…
There are 2000 to choose from, all made by professional artists, designers, and illustrators but in previous years some have been known to imitate the style of others, so it’s probably best to manage expectations and choose something you like.
To date over £1million has been raised for the RCA Fine Art Student Award Fund, which helps support studying artists at the college.
RCA Secret runs from 18-25 November, with sale day on 26 November, at Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London SW7 . Click here for more information.
