The office, in Palo Alto, California, will be led by Dr Dominique Freeman, who has previously worked for Hewlett Packard, General Electric Medical Systems and VP Research.

This will be the second office operated by Cambridge Design Partnership, joining its Cambridge headquarters.

The consultancy says the new office will offer ‘innovative research, design and development capabilities to medical device and healthcare companies’ and will also aim to foster start-up companies through product development.

Freeman says, ‘I’ve worked closely with Cambridge Design Partnership for many years. It was the team’s reputation for serious innovation in the medical device field that encouraged me to work with them in the first place.’

Mike Cane, director of Cambridge Design Partnership, says, ‘The opening of this new office is an indication of the growing number of US businesses looking for the innovative medical device R&D services we offer.’
