Cement Mixer winter graphics show
Internet based graphics art gallery Cement is curating a winter show, Cement Mixer, which it will bring from the online to the physical world this week.
Artists David Shillinglaw, Oliver Vrancken, Eelus and Mark McClure have all produced new work for the show.
Illustration, painting, collage, papercut and sculpture techniques unite the quartet but there seems to have been some hat-swapping of late.
Eelus is best known for his stencil work, which often carries a macabre undertone. Most recently he’s looked to other routes of execution, and has just exhibited papercut work with Sickboy on his Heaven and Earth exhibition.
Painting and collage are Mark McMClure’s preferred materials, but now he is beginning to create three-dimensional graphic and structural work in wood.
David Shillinglaw has developed an anatomical style using witty typography and bold colour.
Belgian Vrancken explores less anatomic and more surreal forms. He has started to work on larger pieces and explore new styles having just finished another exhibition, Down The Rabbit Hole in Hannover, Germany.
Cement Mixer takes place at East Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, E16SA from 23-29 November.
