Former HSBC design head Richard Newland leaves the company

Richard Newland, formerly global head of retail network development and design at HSBC, has left the group.

Newland, who was with HSBC for seven years, is now operating as an independent customer experience specialist.

During his time at HSBC he worked on the creation and deployment of the bank’s global retail branch design formats, including HSBC Premier and HSBC Business, as well as HSBC’s global workplace design.

Newland says, ‘My time at one of the world’s biggest brands has been fantastic, working with some wonderful people on some truly global transformation projects. However, the time is now right for me to find a new challenge.’

A spokesman for HSBC says there has been no announcement on a replacement for Newland.
