Oddbins rolls out new campaign and point-of-sale material

Richard P Chapman Design Associates has designed a Christmas campaign for Oddbins.

Chapman was initially appointed through a pitch in July to work up a new poster campaign for Oddbins following its liquidation and subsequent buy-out by Whittles Wine Merchants in April, which saved 37 of the off-licence’s 89 stores.

Chapman went on to address in-store point-of-sale. ‘We went into shops and saw cabinet headers hand-written in red ink, which wasn’t very professional, so we brought a new [typographic] look to them, showing the countries and grape varieties on offer,’ says Chapman.

The latest Christmas campaign – set to launch on 15 November – introduces a new brick motif to festive graphics, including Christmas  trees and puddings with product pictures and slogans.

Simple & straight-to-the point. So why don’t I get it?

To respond to the comment above, I believe the poster makes more sense in the context of the wider re-design which is now in place in all Oddbins’ stores. This particular poster also part of a set of four and it would be seen sitting alongside those when the designs roll out in the next couple of weeks.
