A round-up of this week’s news in brief.

 

Lux
 

JDO has worked with Unliver to relaunch Lux haircare products in Japan, creating new branding and packaging designs that use a new ribbons graphic and pink and bronze colour palette.

Consultancy Reading Room has created a new website for homebuilders Taylor Wimpey. The site allows users to digitally create their own new home using imagery and illustrations.

Energy Fit Toolkit
 

999 has designed the EnergyFit campaign for housing association Affinity Sutton. The consultancy designed a series of characters to represent the key areas affecting Affinity Sutton residents.

Florian Schültke is to take over as managing director of the Hamburg office of Landor. Most recently, Schültke headed the Berlin office of advertising agency TBWA.

Co op Christmas Logo
 

Coley Porter Bell has created a Christmas identity for The Co-operative Food as part of an ongoing overhaul of the retailer’s own-brand offering. The typography-led designs use hand drawn type alongside classic typefaces, on a new pastel green background.

Blow
 

Caulder Moore has created the branding and interiors for Blow Ltd, a new hair salon and beauty bar in London’s Covent Garden. The consultancy describes the branding as ‘clean, minimal yet beautiful’.

Code Computerlove has created a chipmunk-based campaign for the Electrical Safety Council. The consultancy is also designing and building a new website for the organisation, due to launch early next year.  You can view the video here.

Arup book
 

Consultancy Wardour has designed a book for engineers Arup, creating its eighth annual Design Yearbook, entitled 50 Design Questions Answered. The book is available as an iTunes app alongside the print version.

Blacksheep has designed the interiors concept for London’s new Qbic Hotel. The hotel a sister to the Amsterdam brand, features ‘Cubis’ modular bedrooms.

Consultancy PDD has created a beauty trend map, aiming to showcase complex data about global beauty and fashion trends ‘in a more interesting and interactive way’.

Adnams Single Malt Whisky
 

Brighton-based CookChick Design has created new packaging designs for Adnams whisky, the distiller’s first venture into the whisky market. The bottles use bright colours and copper bands to ‘reflect both the warmth of the product and Adnams Copper Pot Stills’, says the consultancy.

Manchester-based consultancy True North has appointed Sara Johnson as marketing director. Johnson has previously worked at Ogilvy and Coley Porter Bell, most recently holding the role of client services director at Design Bridge.

Warburtons.
 

Smith & Milton has designed the Christmas packaging for bakery brand Warburtons. The packs have been designed to give the appearance of an unwrapped present, featuring  festive images such as Christmas trees, stockings, holly and snowflakes.

Orlagh O’Reilly of OOR Creative has designed new branding for fashion brand 9 London.

Antalis Calendar.
 

Stocks Taylor Benson has designed the Antalis 2014 Calendar for the paper distributor. The concept uses the Antalis dot to direct users through a series of puzzles and conundrums.
