This month sees the launch of Thread, a new Bristol-based event for creatives in the South West.

The first event, which will then run quarterly, is entitled ‘From Humble Beginnings’, and will feature talks from Taxi Studio co-founder Spencer Buck and ‘creative director, designer and bike enthusiast’ John McFaul.

McFaul will be imparting words of wisdom on what he’s learnt from some of his less than successful projects, and the process of setting up your own consultancy.

Thread has been set up by consultancy Fiasco Design, and, as well as talks, each event will feature workshops and a display of art from local artists.

Visitors to the first event will also receive a goodie bag with treats from event sponsors Moleskine and White Duck Screen Print.

Ben Steers, Fiasco Design creative director, says, ‘It seemed strange that with such a strong creative scene in Bristol there wasn’t a platform for creatives to come together on a regular basis, chat and swap ideas.

‘We wanted to create a comfortable, relaxed environment for individuals to come together and meet like-minded people.’

Thread will take place on 28 November at The Royal Navy Volunteer, 17-18 King Street, Old City, Bristol, BS1. For more information and tickets visit http://threadevents.com/
