How to shape up on geometric design
Print and Pattern: Geometric is a beautiful collection of graphics and surface designs made up of geometric shapes.
The new book, published by Laurence King, is the latest from the Print and Pattern blog and has been designed by & Smith.
It’s packed with examples and thankfully organised alphabetically so you can navigate the kaleidoscope of case studies by designer.
To some degree the book reflects the current and recent trend for tribal, Aztec and Native American pattern and there are also Scandinavian and more complex mathematical examples.
We particularly like this Tribal Beat design by Loni Harris and Frontier by Carol Robinson.
The book gives a good sense of the broad application of geometric designs across stationary, textiles, homewares, ceramics and gadget skins among others.
Bowie Style or Marie Perkins as she is also known, has authored the book. She started the print and pattern blog in her spare time while researching mood boards in her job as a textile designer.
Print & Pattern Geometric by Bowie Style is priced £19.95 and will be published by Laurence King Press in January 2015
