DesignArt fair opens in London

DesignArt London, the two-day international modern contemporary art and design fair, opens to the public tomorrow in Hanover Square, London W1.

The fair will showcase work from 20 galleries from around the world.

Work by Zaha Hadid and Marc Newsom will be displayed alongside pieces by Jean Prouvé and Le Corbusier. Galleries including New York’s Antik, Hong Kong’s Contrast Gallery, Paris’s Galerie Downtown and David Gill Galleries in London are participating, with each gallery specialising in a specific time period or theme.

A spokesperson for the event says, ‘It is hoped that the vibrancy of London as an emerging world cultural and financial capital will add a freshness and originality to a successful fair format.’

The event supports the charity Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres. It runs until 8pm on Sunday 14 October. Entry costs £10.
