Tributes for designer Carl Nichols

The design industry pays tribute this week to Brinkworth design director Carl Nichols, who died aged 42, following an accident.

Well known for his work with retail clients including Selfridges and Habitat, Nichols played an important part in the design industry for many years. He joined Brinkworth as design director in February 2005 and previously worked at Gerrard Taylor, which he joined in 1992, later becoming a partner in 1999. Nichols’s colleagues at Brinkworth honour him in a statement, saying, ‘Carl was an immensely respected design director, a truly wonderful person in both his professional and personal life, and he will be missed enormously by all who knew him.’

At the request of his family, a trust has been set up in the name of his daughter, Angel Elliott-Nichols. Donations can be sent c/o Brinkworth, 6 Ellsworth Street, London E2 0AX.
