Jack Morton Worldwide has released details of the launch event that will be held at the end of the month to mark the opening of the £1.7bn Westfield shopping centre in west London.

The launch on Thursday 30 October, which will be created by Jack Morton and Westfield and produced by Jack Morton, will be opened by London Mayor Boris Johnson and Frank Lowry, chairman of the Westfield Group.

It will feature an exhibition of work by students at the London College of Fashion, the Royal College of Art, and seven other fashion colleges.

Westfield London will also host an emerging talent showcase on 30 October and 1 November, and satellite stages throughout the development will feature performers and entertainers.

Julian Pullan, managing director of Jack Morton Worldwide, says, ‘Westfield’s decision to create a spectacular live experience is testament to the power of experiential marketing to connect with and engage consumers even in more difficult economic times.

‘We are delighted to be a part of the launch of this very exciting development, which sets a new benchmark for retail and leisure destinations.’
