Pavilion of Art & Design prize winners named
A ‘temporary light painting’ has been named best object at the Moët Hennessy Pavilion of Art & Design London.
Random International’s Study for a Mirror, features face recognition technology that detects when a viewer is standing in front of the work and then directly painst the onlooker’s image in light.
A glass vase by Yoichi Ohira will enter the Victoria & Albert Museum’s permanent collection after winning the Pavilion of Art & Design London Prize 2009.
The hand-blown glass piece, called Criastallo Sommerso No 48 Scolpito Vase, was created in 2008 by Italy-based designer-maker Ohira.
Ohira’s piece beat shortlisters Michael Eden and Atelier Van Lieshout to win the prize.
The award for best stand went to Paris-based furniture gallery Galerie Downtown, by François Laffanour.
The Pavilion of Art & Design continues until 18 October in London’s Berkeley Square, W1.

You’ve got it all mixed up! I believe it is two projects which you are discussing here. rAndom International’s Study for A Mirror was named best object at Art & Design London. The object described however is their Audience piece, which was created with Chris O’Shea, last shown in Basel.
