Totally works on Barbarians Rugby Club website

Digital consultancy Totally Communications is designing a new website for the Barbarians Rugby Club.

The Barbarians are an invitational club which selects the best players from around the world to play top international sides. They don’t have a home ground or clubhouse, and are run as a not-for-profit organisation.

Totally was appointed to the work following a pitch against a number of consultancies in the summer. Totally managing director Andy Margolis says, ‘The Barbarians are not like other rugby clubs, and they were looking for a consultancy that could provide them with a website with a difference, not just another rugby site.’

The crux of the new website, which is set to launch at the end of the month, will be a player archive, which will provide information about the club going back to their formation in 1890. The site will also host an online shop, photograph and video galleries, and player profiles and statistics.

Totally client services director Toby Mason says, ‘This is such a prestigious project and it’s a privilege to be working with one of the most recognised brands, not just in rugby but in sport in general.

‘Given that the Barbarians only play a few times a season, it is important to offer fans something more than a standard brochure site. The player archive will do exactly that, and give any rugby fan plenty to keep them occupied in many a lunch break.’
