Wolff Olins tackles Skype brand strategy

Wolff Olins has been appointed by telecoms company Skype as a rostered group to work on its brand strategy.

The consultancy will work on brand development alongside groups TBWA and Rapp, which will focus on advertising.

All three groups came through a pitch in July when branding consultancies and ad agencies were paired. In August shortlisted groups, which included Conran Design with Euro RSCG, Draft FCB with FutureBrand, Rapp with Interbrand, and TBWA with Wolff Olins, competed for the final selection.

Ije Nwokorie, senior strategist at Wolff Olins, says, ‘Skype has the ability to transform the way people around the world connect’, adding, ‘We are delighted to be a partner on that journey.’

Wolff Olins will look after Skype’s global creative strategy, when all three appointed groups succeed the incumbent consultancy Albion.
