Briggs Hillier creates new Schuh concept store

Briggs Hillier has created a new concept store for shoe retailer Schuh at Sheffield shopping centre Meadowhall.

The consultancy was invited to pitch for the project in April 2009, after acting as the retailer’s creative consultancy for the past ten years and carrying out three previous concept developments.

The consultancy was chosen because of its concepts and understanding of the brand, says Briggs Hillier business development manager Mandeep Bhaur.

The new ‘Twenty Ten’ store, which opens at Meadowhall today, builds on previous concepts for the retailer that improved operational issues, says Bhaur.

The store features improved gender definition within the store, with leather studded display areas for women’s footwear and a plum-coloured display area for the men’s products.

The look and feel is inspired by a ‘contemporary eclectic lounge’ and features oak bookcase display areas, contemporary light fittings and window displays that include TV sets showing Schuh TV.
