Factory Design to work on cabin interiors with Marshall Aerospace

Factory Design and Marshall Aerospace have agreed a memorandum of understanding which will see consultancy and company collaborate on the design of cabin interior programmes.

Research, concept, innovation and design refinement of cabin interiors will be carried out by Factory Design and Marshall Aerospace will offer engineering expertise and ensure air-worthiness.

Both have agreed an integrated team will ensure the arrangement leads to ‘continuity’ from design concept to solution ‘without the constraints of typical time frames’.

Factory Design will also be looking at how the brand is applied through the aircraft, the passenger experience and how passengers interact physically with their environment – including seats, toilet and galley.

Customer demand for entertainment, communication and connectivity will be considered in new designs, which are intended for narrow and wide-bodied civil aircraft.

Factory Design director Peter Tennant says that the memorandum marks an ongoing relationship for the foreseeable future which may lead to both retrofit and linefit projects.
