Thomas, who starts the role this week, will lead a team of ten designers, working from the Market Harborough office in Leicestershire, but also spending time in the London office and liaising with staff at Sheridan & Co’s New York outpost.

Michael Sheridan, Sheridan & Co chief executive, says, ‘We want to develop our creative offering out of London so we created the position as a figurehead for communicating what we see our design strengths to be. It gives us a point of contact in the UK that’s close to the customers and the high street.’

Thomas has been with the company since 2005, most recently as creative services manager. As a UK manager, he will report directly to the board of directors.

Sheridan adds that Thomas will also be looking at opportunities to add to the consultancy’s core design disciplines, aiming to initially appoint packaging and digital designers early next year.

Thomas says, ‘I’m honoured to have been given the responsibility and opportunity to lead the team creating exciting retail design for the great brands we work with.’
