London Centre for Book Arts opens up

The recently-opened London Centre for Book Arts is set to hold an open day, where visitors can learn skills including letterpress printing and book-binding.

Book Arts

LCBA opened earlier this year in Hackney’s Fish Island, and offers classes and workshops for beginners and professionals in a range of book-making skills.

Centre founder Simon Goode says the intention is ‘for people who wouldn’t ordinarily do things like printmaking or binding to get their hands dirty’.

This weekend, LCBA will be running a series of hand-on activities open to all-comers.

There will be demonstrations of printing, book-binding and other skills, while there will also be a chance to check out the facilities and meet LCBA instructors and studio members.

The LCBA Open Day will take place from 11am-4pm on 26 October at London Centre for Book Arts, Britannia Works, 56 Dace Road, London E3. For more information visit www.facebook.com.
