The beautiful new leporello published by Nobrow, Eventually Everything Connects is the creation of Loris Lora (what a wonderful name), and shows how some of the biggest names of 20th century show business and California modernism are but a few colourful dotted lines from one another, thanks to the Eames.

The publication illustrates a quote from Charles Eames himself: “Eventually everything connects”.

It takes the form of a hardback covered frieze – all four meters of it – depicting a scene furnished with Eames pieces and populated by characters including Alfred Hitchcock.  On one side, we peek into a glamourous film shoot; on the other, we’re immersed in the equally glamourous setting of a jazz band playing while Dennis Hopper  looks on, camera dangling round his neck ready to add to his collection of photographs.

Tucked into the back cover of the book is a handy illustrated guide to the connections suggested in the main frieze, acting as a map to show how design informed the films, artworks and music of some of the most iconic characters of the last 100 years.
