The online pet food and accessories store has been designed for “the busy pet owner” and Home says offers a “convenient user experience” for the online shopper.
A food finder search engine is at the heart of the site, which taps into the Waitrose home delivery service.
Search filters allow shoppers to look up pet foods, which take into account dietary and wellbeing requirements.
Home says that 63 per cent of the UK population owns a pet and that Waitrose Pet aims to compete “above and beyond the thriving market” so owners can “provide for and spoil their pets at the touch of a button”.
Home chief executive Dave Sewards says: “We converted a room in our building to house the dedicated development team, who worked solely on this project with the client, who also worked from our office, for months.”
