Views of the Shard
A host of designers, artists and architects including Norman Foster, Antony Gormley, Sam Jacob and Timorous Beasties have created artworks inspired by the City of London and the Shard to raise money for charity Article 25.
The artworks are to be auctioned off to help fund the charity, which works on sustainable architecture projects in disaster relief zones or areas of extreme poverty.
The works have been created for Article 25’s annual 10×10 project. This sees an imaginary grid of 100 squares laid over the City of London, with each participant given a square of the grid and asked to create an artwork inspired by it.
This year the Shard is at the centre of the grid, and many of the works respond to it or offer views of it.
This year’s 10×10 Auction will be held at The Shard on 27 November at an invitation-only event.
Last year the 10×10 Auction raised £90,000, which was used to design and build best practice Street Children’s Centres across Africa.
This year Article 25 is aiming to raise over £100,000 to support essential healthcare building projects in the developing world.
