Caulder Moore to brand Zavvi

Caulder Moore has been appointed as lead branding consultancy for Zavvi, the former Virgin Megastore chain, sold by Virgin Group in a management buyout this week.

The retail brand’s visual identity is being created for launch in mid-November. Caulder Moore was also responsible for the renaming of the business, following a competitive pitch.

Cathy Kebbeh, head of brand and advertising at Zavvi, says, ‘Caulder Moore’s experience of the commercial realities of rebranding large, national retailers will be vital in helping us to communicate the new brand’s authority as the leading independent entertainment specialist.’

The consultancy’s brief is ‘to develop an exciting, fresh new name and identity that reflects the pride and passion of the company and its status as a large, specialist independent entertainment store; creating enthusiasm to shop on the high street and across all other customer channels.’

Colum Lowe, managing director at Caulder Moore, says, ‘It’s not everyday you get appointed to assist one of Britain’s top retailers in the development of their brand, the results of which will be highly visible to all on every major high street in the UK.’
